    Serves 2

Ingredients

4 (1/2-inch-thick diagonal) slices Italian bread or baguette
1 1/2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
1 garlic clove
1 small vine-ripened tomato
1/4 teaspoon paprika
coarse salt to taste

Preparation

  1. Step 1

    Prepare grill.

    Step 2

Brush bread slices on both sides with oil and grill on a rack set 5 to 6 inches over glowing coals until golden, about 1 minute on each side.
