Ingredients

3/4 cup sugar
1/2 cup water
1 1/2 pounds ripe fruit (such as peaches, strawberries, plums, or pineapple) cut into medium pieces
3 tablespoons distilled white vinegar
1 1/2 ounces spirit of choice
1/2 ounce lemon juice

Preparation

  1. Step 1

Bring 3/4 cup sugar and 1/2 cup water to a boil in a medium saucepan. Slice 1 1/2 pounds ripe fruit (such as peaches, strawberries, plums, or pineapple) into medium pieces.
